“Rise from the Earth” is a collaboration between Siamtak and IM Innovative Materials, created under the campaign “ICONIC PIECE FOR ICONIC PERSON.” It goes beyond the boundaries of conventional furniture to become a design object where concept, material, and structure come together with intention. This table is not designed merely for function, but as a representation of human nature—responsibility, resilience, and the quiet strength that grows from within.
The inspiration behind this piece stems from the real-life journey of Karoon Wongwutthikrai , Managing Director of Siamtak Co., Ltd., as well as from the shared experience of people everywhere. We all carry weight—duties, expectations, and pressures. Yet it is precisely these burdens that shape us, allowing us to grow stronger and stand with grace. Like a tree that anchors itself deep in the earth before rising steadily toward the sky, this idea is translated into a physical form: a table that may appear delicate at first glance, yet reveals remarkable strength beneath its surface.
At the core of the design is a Hybrid Freeform Truss structure, crafted from reclaimed industrial steel. The structure forms organic, root-like patterns, spreading naturally as if growing from the ground. While it appears free and unstructured, every line is precisely engineered to support the significant weight of the Amazonite stone top. This approach transforms leftover material into a true form of structural art.
Materially, “Rise from the Earth” is an exploration of reinterpretation. The Amazonite stone, with its naturally formed patterns and colors, ensures that no two pieces are ever the same—much like human individuality. The steel structure is wrapped in real wood veneer, then finished with a Liquid Metal technique that preserves the warmth of wood while introducing a contemporary metallic strength. Over time, the surface evolves through oxidation and aging, allowing the piece to develop its own character—alive and ever-changing.
The work embodies Structural Honesty, where the structure is revealed rather than concealed, paired with an Emotional Narrative that speaks of endurance and growth. Here, structure becomes a visual language—communicating meaning without the need for words.
Beyond aesthetics and innovation, the table is rooted in sustainable thinking. Recycled steel reduces industrial waste, while the use of veneer minimizes the consumption of natural timber. Designed for longevity, it reflects a philosophy of growth that does not come at the expense of its origin.
Ultimately, this piece is more than furniture. It is a symbol of identity—an Iconic Statement Piece, a Functional Object, and a Design Narrative that invites conversation and reflection within any space.
